Description

SUMMARY
We are looking for energetic, dynamic individuals to join a fun team with the goal of creating a wonderful experience for our patrons. Clubhouse staff is an integral part of our organization and Associates are responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to patrons during daily operations as well as dedicated events, providing and maintaining Health Department standards and quality customer service to our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.
• Serve as a representative of the City of South Bend, demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees and with the public.
• Attend trainings, meetings and orientation.
• Responsible for preparing station for service and maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area, ensure that the restaurant maintains proper standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Knowledgeable of Health Department policies and regulations. Could be subject to handle impromptu audits from the Health Department.
• Responsible for startup and close of kitchen equipment and turning on hood vents, grills, griddles, coffee pots all equipment that is needed for daily operations.
• Clear and reset work station and kitchen at conclusion of each shift.
• Assist in the daily, as well as weekly, clean-up of facilities.
• Help unload and stock kitchen and storage areas.
• Maintain responsibility for food safety practices including general product cleanliness, rotate stock as needed and freshness by use of product labeling with expiration dates, etc. as instructed.
• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks out of the kitchen and ensure a consistent, high quality product for patrons.
• Responsible for proper breakdown and storage of products.
• Balance POS System after each shift and prepare deposit slips for bank deposits.
• Responsible for overages or shortages.
• Fill out requisitions for all items needed in the kitchen and inform the Director of Food and Beverage.
• Assist with special events as needed.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Experience in food and beverage required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
• Strong customer service skills and positive up-beat personality.
• Working knowledge of City or County government a plus
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints.
• Must have a basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits.
• Must have the ability to handle money transactions and operate a POS system.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills, strong ethics and honest behavior.
• Must report to work as scheduled, in uniform and ready to be in position.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking helpful.
• Ability to work well with people in a team environment but can work independently as well.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Valid Driver’s License required if driving a City vehicle.
• Indiana Employee Liquor Permit
• Indiana Server Training Certified
• Food Safety Certification helpful but not mandatory

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk, and talk or hear. More than 50% of the typical work day will be spent walking, standing, reaching, grasping and using repetitive motions of wrist, hands and fingers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed inside and outside facilities, noise levels can be quiet to moderately loud. Individual works in various weather conditions which include extreme hot or cold conditions.
