POSITION SUMMARY: Graduate Assistants (GA) in the Graduate and Continuing Studies Enrollment Department assist members of the department by providing services in the areas of marketing, student recruitment, customer service, and first-time registration. Graduate Assistants will gain valuable skills that can be transferred to many organizational experiences. Each Graduate Assistant will be supervised by one or more of the full-time employees of the College.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Correspond with prospective students, college partners, and alumni seeking information about the college’s graduate and adult undergraduate degree completion programs

  • Provide administrative support in the areas of transcript review and degree mapping

  • Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of networking and recruitment events for current and prospective students, alumni, faculty, and staff

  • Serve as a department representative, as appropriate, during informational presentations and distribute general information about the department and its programs

  • Engage in social media programming

  • Complete other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate Assistants should have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, cultural awareness and sensitivity, and the ability to complete a broad range of responsibilities/projects

  • GAs should have inherent customer service instincts and the ability to work without close supervision

  • Experience working with integrated technology systems and tools

  • Some evening and weekend activities, as well as travel to off-site recruitment events, is a requirement
