Project Scientist - San Ramon, CA

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Candidate will support a wide range of environmental site assessment projects.
  • Field work will support our Environmental Services and Due Diligence depending upon candidate's skills and interests.
  • Environmental Services work includes performing ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), ASTM Phase II ESAs, soil, groundwater, soil gas and indoor air investigations and other similar investigations.
  • Includes writing reports associated with these assessments.
  • Must be able to work on an independent basis.
  • Abide by ATC's health and safety policies and procedures.
Position Requirements

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology or environmental science.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental field at the project level including field work.
  • Experience in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM guidelines and industry standards.
  • Environmental certifications including HAZWOPER and safety certifications
  • Valid driver’s license as field work and site travel is involved; candidate will be responsible for transportation.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in UST and hazardous site projects (Preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills including technical writing.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Must be able to complete projects/assignments in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and background with environmental laws and regulations including those in California.
  • Ability to work in a team is a must.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
