POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION
The Accounting Clerk will provide accounting support for Accounts Receivable (AR), Acccounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) accounting. This position will primarily work with AR, AP, and GL but will assist other areas in Finance as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews credit card transactions and identifies proper coding.
Maintains historical record by filing documents on a monthly basis.
Performs Sales and Use Tax analysis at the direction of General Ledger Accountant.
Performs journal entries at the direction of General Ledger Accountant.
Supports month-end closing procedures by running OAC and Oracle reports.
Receives checks and scans checks to the bank for daily deposits.
Provides support to the Accounts Payable Team.
Creates manual invoices at the direction of the AR Specialist L2.
Processes electronic payment for customers.
Initiates collection efforts via email.
Performs other duties as requested.
Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of standard account receivable practices.
Good oral and written communications, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to organize and manage documents.
Ability to work efficiently and productively in a multi-tasking environment independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED.
6 months Accounting education or experience required.
Minimum 2 years' experience working in an office environment.
Oracle experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.
Able to hear and speak into a telephone.
Close visual work on a computer terminal.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
WORK CONDITIONS
Typical office environment.
Extensive daily usage of a computer or workstation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Work on site; no telecommuting.
Must possess valid state-issued driver's license.
