Wyandot, Inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to join our PACES 2019 psychosocial group summer program! The Youth Development Assistant—Summer Program provides assistance and constructive guidance to youth in completing daily tasks and activities. This position will additionally provide training in life and social skills in an individual or group setting. The Youth Development Assistant may work at a specific organizational facility, an authorized community/program location and/or the client's home.

Work Schedule:

This is a seasonal summer position which typically requires 20—30 work hours per week. The schedule for this position will vary between 8:00 am—4:00 pm on Mondays—Fridays.

New hire training for the Youth Summer Program begins on May 20th, 2019. The summer program will begin on June 3rd and ends August 2nd with a possible conversion to a full-time role. Come get started in the process now and save your spot!

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide transportation and accompany clients to and from activities and/or appointments to provide medically necessary direct care and support, as directed.
  • Assist in providing structured and constructive activities that support the client's treatment.
  • Assist clients with learning and practicing daily living and social skills.
  • Assist client in completing daily living tasks as needed.
  • Assist clients with problem-solving daily living situations.
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly, on time and according to agency standards.
  • Provide above services on an individual basis or in a group setting as required.
  • Engage individuals in a positive, constructive, respectful and hopeful manner.
  • Recognize and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural and ethnic differences.
  • Help others succeed by demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and/or serious emotional disturbance, and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations. Effectively manage conflict.
  • Interact positively with other staff, members of the agency and team, including active participation in supervision activities, team meetings and training, etc.

 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E. D.
  • Prior experience providing effective, efficient healthcare/welfare services work preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in a healthcare, day care or educational setting preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively use all devices, equipment, computer systems required to fulfill the essential functions of this position.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable independent transportation and current motor vehicle insurance coverage.
