Dominion National, a leading provider of dental and vision benefits in the Mid-Atlantic area, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner.

Summary:

The Senior HR Business Partner consults, advises, coaches and partners with the organization's leadership team on people and organizational needs - ensuring alignment with the company and HR objectives and initiatives. This individual will influence the overall people strategy and ensuring effective execution of HR solutions to achieve desired business results. The Senior HR Business Partner has a keen understanding of the HR strategy and organizational effectiveness. Work involves providing strategic and hands-on dynamic HR solutions utilizing experience, data analyses and organizational agility to guide decision-making.

The individual in this position serves in a strategic role to identify, define and implement HR plans and solutions that address the needs of the business while taking into account the broader implications within the organization; aligns HR strategy with corporate and business goals; manage and resolve all employee relations issues. Conduct thorough and objective investigations as needed, assess risk and determine appropriate actions necessary; partners with HR colleagues and leaders to develop and implement specific programs and initiatives directly aligned to business strategy in the areas of performance management, recognition, career development, organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent development, compensation, benefits, recruitment. HRIS, wellness and employee relations. Identify and recommend training initiatives; review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements; champions organizational change initiatives in support of business strategies ensure compliance of all HR practices within area of responsibility and with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards and other relevant policies and guidelines; performs other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will, at a minimum, possess the following credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Seven years of progressively more responsible experience in a HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role required.
  • Soft-skills, management/leadership, and developmental training development experience a plus. OD and teambuilding experience preferred.
  • Strong project management, effective organizational skills, business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and analysis with high attention to detail a must.
  • Proficient in HR Information Systems and Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Possess a full range of functional HR skills – Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation, Organizational Development, Talent Management, Succession Planning, HRIS, Benefits and Change Management.
  • Must have a team-orientated approach; able to quickly and consistently establish rapport and collaborate effectively with leadership, team members, and employees at all levels.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills required.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Ability to strategically and independently analyze data and diagnose opportunities and interventions.
  • Flexibility to think strategically and dig into the details coupled with a one-team attitude.
  • Demonstrated experience understanding the business needs of internal clients and implementing programs that positively impact work group performance.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  • Must be flexible to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, take direction and seek input from multiple people, and handle pressure in a positive manner.
  • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP certifications required.
