About the Organization Desert Champions manages and operates a curated selection of sports and entertainment events and properties, the largest of which is the BNP Paribas Open held annually at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, operated by Desert Champions. In addition to hosting this prestigious sporting event, Desert Champions manages the Indian Wells Music Festival, Easter Bowl, the Oracle Challenger Series, and the USA Pickleball National Championships.


Nestled in Southern California, just outside of Palm Springs, the picturesque Indian Wells Tennis Garden is home to the second largest tennis stadium in the world, featuring 16,100 seats, newly renovated 45 luxury stadium suites, 12 broadcast booths, 20 food and beverage concessions and world-renowned Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Spago. The Tennis Garden, which spans more than 54 acres and boasts two 19,000 square foot shade structures, 29 world-class courts, eight acres of exposition space and a year-round full-service Tennis Club, also features a permanent 8,000-seat Stadium 2 with three fine dining restaurants, including world-famous Japanese restaurant Nobu.

Description

The Partnership Marketing Coordinator works closely with the Marketing Director in planning and executing various marketing initiatives, promotions and activations for partners/sponsors of all of Desert Champions properties such as the BNP Paribas Open, Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Oracle Challenger Series, Indian Wells Music Festival, USA Pickleball National Championships and more.

 
Position Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Essential Job Function

1. Partners Relations
a. Build and foster relationships with current and new Desert Champions partners *
b. Gather requirements, facilitate partners activations (online, on-site)*
c. Conduct meetings, prepare project plans, deliverables, assure contractual commitments are met *


2. Event(s) Activations
a. Create master plan all promotions, events, activities, for all partners
b. Manage various activations during events, gate giveaways, promotions, signage, and more *
c. Work with sponsors on ideas and ways to promote their products during the events that is beneficial to them and the tournament.
e. Assist with all player appearances pre-tournament and during events
f. Work with media/PR and internal team on ideas for new ways to engage partners .

3. Promotional Materials / Advertising
a. Work with designers, printers and internal teams on all partner activations *
b. Gather assets from partners for video content, TV inventory, print ads, social media, etc *
c. Assure media / PR / marketing contractual deliverables are met

4. Marketing - Miscellaneous
a. Help build the Desert Champions brand
b. Assist with various event(s) marketing initiatives such as advertising campaigns, press releases and events, digital and social media, photography, and more.*
c. Handle various administrative duties such as purchase orders, reports*
d. Support Marketing Director and Event Marketing Manager as needed with special projects*

5. Indian Wells Tennis Garden
a. Support various promotion of the IWTG for both tennis and non-tennis events*
b. Handle advertising and help increase membership*
c. Support the build and maintenance of the new website*
d. Posts social media content of all events*

Language Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and understanding of basic online publishing tools and social media platforms.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, advertising, sports management or related field; and experience working for a large-scale sporting and entertainment event.

Office hours are 8:30 - 5:00 however the position entitles flexible working hours based on events and might include nights, weekends and major holidays.
