Share Email Opening Title 475 Purchasing Associate  Location Leech Lake Gaming   Description POSITION SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for assisting the Purchasing Director with the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the Leech lake Gaming Division. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist the Purchasing Director with the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the Leech Lake Gaming Division, including the Palace, Northern Lights, and White Oak gaming facilities. To assist with finding and providing the best quality, costs, and services from potential vendors. Ability to maintain reports for ongoing operation of the Purchasing Department. To maintain an efficient, professional filing system for the Purchasing Department. To assist management in achieving the success and profitability goals through the procurement process as set forth in the Leech Lake Gaming purchasing manual. Ability to obtain comparable quotes for goods and services. Issuance of purchase orders along with signatory responsibility in absence of Purchasing Director. Ability to prepare bid packets and request for proposals. Coordinate with Receiving Clerks at sites on purchases made and received. Maintain good relations with supplier personnel, which means courteous, impartial, objective professional manner as a representative of the business. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Is sensitive to Native American Culture. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Performs other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of Casino Policies & Procedures and Internal Controls Knowledge of the procurement process Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors Ability to communicate effectively to management and other sources, Good negotiating skills, good judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically capable of sitting at a computer desk for long periods of time. EDUCATION AND SKILLS Education Required: Associate’s Degree in Business or related field. Experience: One year accounting and/or purchasing experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement. Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills and be fluent in all Microsoft Office products.
