Kitchen Coordinator 

Position Kitchen Coordinator (Childcare Center)  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Base Wage $8.75-$10.25 per hour based on experience and certification  
Description

Summary:

Under direct supervision and working from menus or instructions performs day-to-day operations involved in serving of meals and snacks in a child care setting; and coordinates menus and various cooking assignments. The employee receives assignments from the supervisor who defines objectives, priorities and deadlines, and assists the employee with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares breakfast, lunch and snacks for the children and staff
  • Operates standard cooking equipment and utensils such as mixing machines, steam cookers, toasters, food choppers, conventional ovens, microwave ovens, grill, deep fryer, and meat slicer
  • Participate in the cleaning of kitchen, refrigerators, storerooms, and dining areas to meet sanitation standards
  • Oversees and aids in the proper handling, packaging, and storage of food stuffs; meets deadlines for food service
  • Purchases foods and plans menus in accordance with CACFP guidelines
  • Participates in serving prepared food to the children
  • Assigns, directs, trains, and supervises all aids or volunteers who are assigned to the kitchen
  • Complies with local, state and national standards for quality as designated by the agency
