This internship is with Xperi in Los Angeles, CA, but is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. Position Requirements

As a member of the DTS Cinema team, the Cinema intern will gain practical experience with DTS:X immersive sound technology in movie theatres and on movie soundtracks.

  1. Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Opportunities
  • Learn about and be exposed in a professional environment to the business process of immersive sound as practiced in studios for their motion picture audio tracks and in movie theatres as part of their theatrical sound systems
  • Track and update databases of DTS:X movie titles and release dates worldwide
  • Collect data from DTS:X theatrical exhibition partners worldwide about their systems, equipment, workflows, key personnel and Xperi contacts. Build and maintain a searchable database of this information.
  • Support communications with global DTS:X theatrical exhibition partners to raise awareness and proactive demand for DTS:X films. Work closely with theatrical exhibition partners to ensure DTS:X films are playing as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with DTS Marketing to support events promoting the use of DTS:X in cinema screenings.
  1. Desired Skills/ Experience
  • Love movies and have intrinsic passion for learning about the movie business
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Receptive to input and suggestions, open-minded about options and solutions
  • Professional and personable attitude. Able to work independently and to interface with teammates across departments and levels within DTS
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel experience
  • Must be a junior or senior (undergrad or grad) enrolled in a 4 year accredited university or college; with a GPA of 3.0 or above

The position will work with outside partners and cross-functionally with internal functions
