Position Vice President, Information Technology Manager  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Description

SUMMARY: The Information Technology Manager is responsible for managing the bank's Information Technology functions, which includes, but is not limited to driving the development and delivery of quality systems and services as well as the technology architecture that will enable SBD’s various business strategies.

Key responsibilities include: team leadership; maintaining a high level of service quality for internal customers; managing all aspects of IT.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Controls

  • Manage the Change Control processes
  • Manage Disaster Recovery site
  • Manage IT Steering Committee; prepare agenda; manage charter and annual Board Review
  • Manage MIS Oversight Committee

Technical Skills

  • Build and expand knowledge base to support technology infrastructure, hardware, software and user needs
  • Identify and perform best practices for addressing various issues with our technology infrastructure, hardware, and software.

Process Improvements

  • Productively fill down-time to improve our technology infrastructure and our organization
  • Proactively make suggestions for solutions to our most recurring user requests and technology service issues
  • Think critically to guarantee processes are appropriate and assigned to the correct team and department

Compliance & Data Security/Security

  • Follow all IT policies and procedures as well as working closely with the compliance officer and ISO to maintain highest possible levels of security for bank systems and data
  • Is aware of and complies with guidelines/policies, ethics policy and the bank's non-discrimination policy; complies with banking regulations
  • Is aware of and complies with GLBA requirements
  • Secure all documents and data, and follow the "clean desk" policy; lock computer screen when leaving station/desk
  • Follow security protocols within IT area and when entering or leaving the building
  • Understand and keep abreast of changing regulations and industry standards; work with auditors/regulators as needed

IT Support - Service Skills

  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards staff and all of our employees
  • Handle difficult situations calmly and with confidence
  • Display empathy for our technology users and their day-to-day challenges

Future Technology & Budget

  • Stay attuned to emerging technology advances and alternatives, industry trends and issues and assess and provide expert knowledge and recommendations to the bank’s Executive Team
  • Analyze proposed and approved projects in terms of cost/benefits of applying information technology
  • Lead cross functional teams to support and ensure conceptualization, design, implementation and deployment of

IT and business initiatives and projects

  • Define and manage approved cost center budgets

HR MGMT & Performance Expectations

  • Interview applicants and make hiring recommendations
  • Monitor all performance and conduct periodic performance reviews/coaching sessions for staff members; review, approve performance reviews for indirect reports
  • Complete performance reviews at least one month before due date for each direct report
  • Manage employee time and attendance by verifying time worked and approving time cards before weekly cut off
  • Manage personal time and attendance by entering time off requests within Paychex; approve time card before weekly cutoff

Compliance Training & Continuing Education

  • Complete all BVS online compliance training on or before deadlines
  • Attend compliance in-person and web-based training when offered
  • Attend other continuing education programs related to position

Community Involvement

  • Encourage team involvement in community events
  • Volunteer for at least one organization and two events within performance review period
 
Position Requirements

Educational and experience requirements include:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent course of study 5+ years’ work related banking experience
  • Relevant experience in deposit operations with a bank
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication and listening skills Relevant experience developing and achieving department goals
  • Strong computer experience
  • Proven ability to stay current with and comply with industry regulations
