Description

Job Summary: Performs a variety of routine custodial duties normally performed at a large public facility including trash removal; cleaning of public areas such as hallways, offices, meeting rooms and restrooms; set up and removal of tables and chairs for special events; trash removal and general grounds keeping.

The work of the Custodian will involve:

  • Keeping the internal and external appearance of the library clean and presentable to the public; including floor and rug care such as mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming and shampooing rugs;
  • Cleaning light fixtures, baseboards, windows, door frames and dust surfaces; gathering and removing trash;
  • Sanitizing sinks and toilets in restrooms;
  • Assisting in the performance of cutting grass and shrubbery, removing exterior debris, mulching, weeding, cleaning sidewalks and removing snow.
 
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to (50+ lbs.);
  • Ability to stand, stoop, stretch, kneel, climb ladders and be on your feet for prolonged periods of time;
  • Capable of using cleaning solutions and powered equipment effectively and safely;
  • Valid Driver’s license also preferred;
  • PA Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Criminal Record Check and Pre-Employment Physical required upon offer of employment.
 
Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time  
Work Hours 20-25 hours per week; days, evening, and weekends required.  
Salary $13.67 per hour
