Description

PAI is searching for a skilled leader to join our team on our journey that builds on a high level of satisfaction for participants and staff.

The Vice President (VP) of Operations is the strategic and operational owner of programs, services, and related processes. The VP leads a team of Directors and other essential staff as they create and deliver valuable site-based and community-based programming. The VP is a role model for all managers and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in person-centered service delivery and community integration of PAI services.

Position Requirements

Education and Knowledge

  1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, master's degree preferred.
  2. High level of working knowledge of Minnesota DHS licensing and regulatory requirements based on Chapter 245D and other relevant sources.
  3. Ability to achieve and maintain a cleared MN Department of Human Services background check that allows unsupervised contact with program participants.
  4. Reliable transportation for work purposes, a valid driver’s license, a driving record approved by our insurance company and proof of valid car insurance.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of five years of management experience in a program providing services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older.
  • Consistently demonstrate leadership by fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Effectively manage time and priorities, including the ability to anticipate and respond to changes, emerging needs, and emergencies.
  • Assure implementation of appropriate policies, processes, incident reporting and corrective actions in order to meet licensure requirements and PAI standards.
  • Communicate in a responsive and respectful manner.
  • Use sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Effectively learn and apply new skills, techniques, and approaches. Collaborate in order to respond to, initiate and manage through change.
  • Work equally well with big picture planning and essential operational and regulatory details.
  • Represent the organization to external audiences, including peer organizations and state associations, public policy and funding decision makers, families and more.
  • Manage budgets and understand Day Services funding.
  • Understand and contribute to relevant public policy topics, internally and with peer organizations.
  • Identify issues and opportunities; create visibility and appropriate action. Manage issues, personalities and people at all levels; respond appropriately in sensitive situations.
  • Appropriately manage confidential information.
  • Effectively communicate in the English language including giving and following oral and written instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use other applications as needed.
