Key Account Manager - Elevator, Escalator & Building Infrastructure

WAGO Corporation is seeking an experienced technical sales person to serve in the role of Key Account Manager for some of our most important client accounts. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for revenue growth, analytics, forecasting, communications, and WAGO brand presence. The Key Account Manager will also be responsible for developing new business and new relationships with key accounts and selected target accounts.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Four year technical degree and/or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Experience in the sale of electrical connectors, electronics, and/or technical industrial products.
  • Knowledge of elevator, escalator, and/or building infrastructure OEM’s and their requirements.
  • Experience in national or international sales with a technically oriented company in the electrical industry.
  • Strong communications skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and strategic selling methodology.
  • Sales experience in delivering technical value through domain excellence.
  • Must demonstrate ability to manage varied tasks and possess excellent organizational, computer, oral, and written communication skills. Competence in MS Office application programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Intensive support of defined key clients with the elevator, escalator, and building infrastructure markets.
  • Building long term relationships with decision makers at key customers.
  • Product and applications support of key customers and their sub-suppliers.
  • Develops account strategy and executes tactical plan to drive sales growth.
  • Prepares and analyzes sales data with related metrics to evaluate and refine strategies/tactics.
  • Identification and structured monitoring/support of strategic key customers projects and applications.
  • WAGO internal coordination and integration of various divisions to support key account success.
  • Coordination and negotiation of long term supply contracts.
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines of elevator and escalator industry.
  • Identify working groups, industry events and actively participate to develop relationships, gather market trends/data.
  • Collaborate with and contribute to marketing team with market communications for online, print, trade shows, conferences, and references in the focused industries.
  • Responsible for gathering customer/market data and recognizing trends to support product management for prioritizing potential products and applications to meet customer current & future needs. Engaged in new product process.
  • Communicate and coordinate with global industry management team to support key accounts and sub-suppliers cultivating both North American and global growth with key accounts and focused industries.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to travel via airplane.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Travel estimate 30%. Travel to corporate headquarters will also be required on a periodic basis.
