Maden Technologies seeks a Subcontracts Administrator to join our dynamic corporate team! Based in Arlington, Virginia, we are an established, growing company focused on science, technology, environmental, construction, and healthcare support. The Subcontracts Administrator reports to the Manager of Contracts and is responsible for: (a) overall management of supplier cost, schedule, and contract performance; (b) interfacing with program functional departments and supplier management; (c) supplier source selection, negotiations, documentation and purchase order/subcontract placement; (d) developing subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services; and (e) preparing bid packages, conducting bidder conferences, analyzing and evaluating proposals, negotiating and administering subcontracts, and managing travel. Experience with Federal Government contracting is a must.

  • Evaluate current supply base for major commodities and develop new or existing suppliers to support future requirements
  • Develop, negotiate, award, maintain, and close-out all subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and pricing
  • Assist in resolving supply problems and supervise follow-up and expediting of supplier deliveries
  • Establish objectives, performance criteria, procedures, and measures regarding subcontract administration
  • Establish effective working relationships among subcontract management, suppliers, and user departments
  • Consult with all segments of management on requirements
  • Make recommendations for improving the effectiveness of policies and practices
  • Foster a policy of procurement involvement with Program Management, Quality, Production, Accounting, and IT to develop a pro-active, participating team on material-related issues
  • Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures


  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor Degree in related field - advanced business degree preferred or Contract or Subcontract certification
  • Minimum 8 years of subcontract management experience AND minimum 5 years of procurement experience, from statement of work (SOW) through contract/purchase order (PO) closure
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA)
  • Experience with and understanding of Subcontract Program Management (SPM) best practices and tools
  • Knowledge of Federal Government acquisition procedures
  • Training in Earned Value Management a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically and be a problem solver
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities/goals and new technologies, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional demeanor when dealing with outside vendors and clients
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Exercise discretion to maintain and manage confidential corporate and client data
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment and solicit and give constructive feedback
