What are the objectives/goals of the position?

Explore activity and mechanism of drug combinations in preclinical cancer models

Gain practical, bench-based drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical setting

What are the primary duties of this position?

Work with AZ scientists to perform a variety of bioscience experiments (e.g. cell culture, immunoblot, qPCR) to characterize drug combination activity

Analyze experimental results and maintain detailed lab notebook

Present data/progress reports to the team

 
Position Requirements

What technical skills are required?

Completed lab-based coursework in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry

Excellent communication skills, work ethic, and organizational skills

Familiarity with basic biology techniques (e.g. mammalian cell culture, immunoblot, protein/RNA/DNA extraction, PCR) preferred

Strong desire to learn more about drug discovery and cancer biology

Familiarity with Microsoft Office
