KENNEL:
Preferred Experience, Education and/or Training: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Former education, training or experience in animal care is preferred.
Job Requirements: The kennel staff are in charge of the general upkeep of animals in their care and must provide individualized attention to them so they stay healthy and happy. General duties include keeping cages clean and sanitized; bathing, walking, feeding (following specific schedules and special feeding instructions), picking up after the animals (both inside the facility and outside); and reporting on the animal's condition to the veterinary team.
Other responsibilities include:
· Maintain the clinic as a whole by performing tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, and checking equipment and supplies.
· Assist other staff members on occasion with such tasks as helping restrain an animal, helping clients with their pets, etc.
· Examine and observe animals to check possible signs of illnesses, diseases, or injuries.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

· PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
o The noise level in the work environment is moderately high.
o Requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform duties while at hospital.
o Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
o Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
o Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
o Associate is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.
