ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides input to management; schedules and/or interfaces with marketing, sales, production and engineering managers. Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. Oversees the master schedules and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing. Review schedules, plans, and the instructions on job travelers, work orders, operation instructions, engineering drawings, manuals, formulas, process charts, and follow verbal instructions to determine specifications and sequence of operations. Review MRP outputs. Complete firming of jobs, job scheduling, kit requests and coordinate material shortage resolution to coincide with contract ship dates. Coordinate the organization of Kanbans and kits as necessary. Provide support for all work centers to ensure material requirements are satisfied in a timely manner. Implement appropriate action to incorporate modifications due to engineering change orders and purges to work in process (WIP). EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two year degree required; prefer a 4 year degree, plus a minimum of 3-5 years direct industry experience as a planner/scheduler, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constrains, and will at times be required to work with some chemicals and bonding agents. Ability to lift and manipulate 25 pound objects, sometimes overhead.
