Description

The Loan Admin. position is primarily responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to the Lending Officers in servicing the needs of Bank loan and depository customers. Work is routine in nature. Works under general supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)

Functional:

  • Answer incoming telephone inquiries, route calls to the appropriate Loan Officer or take a message.
  • Greet and direct customers visiting the Lending Department.
  • Sign for departmental deliveries and direct all other deliveries to the appropriate department.
  • Provide clerical support to the Lending Officers.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date loan applications for consumer, commercial and real estate loans to include appropriate disclosures
  • Provide loan applications to customers and review for accuracy and completeness when returned.
  • Pull credit reports and prepare loan worksheets in preparation for loan officers review of loan application.
  • Request appropriate documentation from borrowers, attorneys, companion lenders, appraisers etc.
  • Type loan memorandums and credit memos.
  • Assist Lending Officers with loan closings and fundings.
  • Prepare loan advances.
  • Clear up loan exceptions.
  • Call on past due loans to secure payment.
  • May prepare DDA overdraft protection line documents
  • Promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.
  • Prepare and type consumer loans and documents

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (Minimum education, experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position.)

  • Accurate keyboard skills at 40 wpm and 10-key by sight.
  • Moderate PC skills including word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel).
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment and general office procedures.
  • Advanced written, oral, interpersonal and negotiating skills with ability to interview people at various levels to obtain general and specific credit related information.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent, and at least 2 years related experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position.)

Internal – Work is normally performed in climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

External – N/A

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (The physical effort generally associated with this position)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds such as files, documents, and computer printouts. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at an advanced skill level. Extensive reading(50% or more of work time spent reading) and extensive computer usage (50% or more of work time viewing computer monitor) as well as close or highly concentrated visual work. Receive detailed information through verbal communication both in person and by telephone.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (Positions, other than supervisor and immediate co-workers, with which incumbent has frequent contact and the reason for contact.)

Internal – Extensive contact with personnel throughout the Corporation.

External – Frequent contact with customers, title companies, appraisers and insurance providers in order to obtain or provide information and/or assistance and to resolve problems.

Supervision of Others – N/A

ACCOUNTABILITY (Budget/asset amount managed, revenues/profits produced, and/or other financial resource incumbent is accountable for. Also indicates judgement/decision making level.)

This position is responsible for the effective assistant of assigned Bank Lending Officers and for achieving individual production goals.
