Share Email Opening Title Shop Supervisor  Category Construction   Position Shop Supervisor   Description POSITION PURPOSE: This position is responsible for efficiently and effectively managing the service shop operations in a fast paced construction company environment. Experience with heavy duty trucks, trailers and heavy equipment is a must. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the day-to-day operations of the service shop, which performs service repairs and maintenance on company-owned equipment Manage work orders and assign them to the mechanic best suited to complete the job Motivate, mentor, and empower service team to achieve company goals; measure team member success on an ongoing basis and coach/take corrective action as necessary Manage purchasing for the department, including analyzing the options and determining the best course of action Ensure the maintenance of the department is in good order and in accordance with safety requirements Coordinate training and development opportunities for mechanics Communicate and maintain a positive relationship with all customers Track inventory of Eversource gas stock received and maintaining records Track inventory of Feeney Brothers tools, equipment and maintaining records Budgeting tool and yard purchases Keeping general order, organization, neatness of yard, garage, and office Dispatching and Scheduling Mechanics and Reviewing time sheets Reviewing Mechanic inventory and tracking inventory QUALIFICATIONS: 2-5 years management experience in a Facility or Shop environment Comfortable working in a team environment. Experience in any of the follow is helpful but not required: gas utility, diesel equipment repair, warehouse work Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work professionally and problem solve with all personalities and situations Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to analyze and improve service operations Combination of education and work experience will be considered   Position Requirements   Salary   Req Number CON-19-00001   Location Connecticut   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
