Description

The Manager of Budgeting and Analysis position, reporting to the CFO, is accountable for leveraging a strong accounting background to explore historical financial data, predict future results and drive accurate and timely budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. This position will also be expected to analyze process and recommend improvements. This position will support the functions of the Controller and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports for Financial Review Committee meetings including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow as well as supporting detailed analysis for revenue, labor, losses and other areas as needed.
  • Preparation of monthly variance analysis to budgets for expenses, headcount, balance sheet and other data as directed and reporting significant issues or improvement opportunities to the CFO.
  • Meet with budget managers regularly to support the compilation of financial budgets and variance analysis.
  • Manage the preparation of the annual budget and periodic reforecast including all aspects of the income statement and balance sheet.
  • Preparation of bank covenant reports.
  • Perform maintenance of financial reporting software in line with job duties.
  • Assistance with the completion of the annual financial statement or other audits as directed.
  • Work with the Controller to ensure expenses are booked consistently with budget.
  • Support Director of FP&A on projects including process improvement, cost efficiency identification and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Other financial analyses and projects as directed by the CFO.
  • Complete 40 hours of Continuing Education annually.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to speak clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor, train, coach, and others.
  • Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to achieve results.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet constant deadlines.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and a self-starter with strong work ethic.
  • Ability to conceptualize problems, solutions and recommendations into executive management presentations.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) experience is a must.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university.
  • Public Accounting experience and CPA certificate required
  • Five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
