TITLE: Truck Driver DEPARTMENT: Shipping & Receiving

STATUS: PT/FT, Journeyperson, Union, Hourly REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: To ensure the highest level of service possible to Outpost's internal and external customers. To drive Outpost's truck to transport materials and products to Outpost's multiple locations and catering events.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noises including, but not limited to: equipment, machinery, paging, telephones, and human voices. Regular work near moving mechanical parts (i.e. truck lift, dock, power equipment). Regular work in wet, humid conditions and cold/hot climates. Job related travel within Metro Milwaukee area.


1. Customer Service

a. Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect.

b. Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.

2. Shipping & Receiving Department Responsibilities

Deliveries and Truck Maintenance

a. Prepare and load truck for deliveries. Secure cargo for transit.

b. Drive truck to destination. Unload truck and check in with store receivers.

c. Complete deliveries on schedule.

d. Follow all traffic laws and drive in a courteous and professional manner.

e. Maintain truck log.

f. Maintain telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.

g. Report all damage and broken equipment upon onset of condition.

h. Maintain vehicle in a clean, neat and sanitary condition, wash as needed.

i. Inspect and maintain truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.


a. Assist with light maintenance and janitorial duties at various locations when needed.

b. Adjust to changing conditions to facilitate the delivery of products to customers.

3. All Staff Duties

a. Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.

b. Keep store/office orderly and clean.

c. Maintain a positive attitude.

d. Perform all other duties as assigned by the director of store operations or shipping and receiving coordinator.

Position Requirements

  • Must have a current driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to team lift up to and over 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work in cold climate on regular basis
  • High level of maneuverability
  • Ability to use feet and hands to operate machinery and company vehicle(s)
