Behavior Technician Trainer (BCaBA) 

Description

Behavior Technician Trainers (BTTs) are responsible for overlapping with Behavior Technicians (BTs) for hands-on training purposes with client present. The BTT is expected to perform monthly checklists with the BTs for quality assurance and for providing ongoing training and feedback to Behavior Technicians. They may also model implementation of behavioral strategies for parents or caregivers when overlapping with new staff. BTTs are responsible for subbing when the need arises. BTTs are expected to attend monthly supervision meetings with Lead Supervisor(s).

 
Position Requirements

Required

Education: Associates Degree. One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Certification: Registered Behavior Technician certification with the BCBA

Experience: Prior experience using logical problem-solving techniques both independently and in collaboration with others to meet service delivery requirement.

Skills:

a. Basic level of computer proficiency.

b. Basic level of proficiency in MS Word.

c. Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.

d. Analytic skills with a proven commitment to accuracy and timeliness.

Knowledge:

a. Knowledge of the autism spectrum and characteristic of individuals with autism.

b. Knowledge of learning theory and behavioral principles and techniques.

c. Knowledge of DTT, PRT, and PECS.

d. Clear understanding of the distinction between therapeutic and social relationships and demonstrated ability to maintain appropriate relationships/boundaries.

Abiliites

a. Demonstrated ability to interpret procedure manuals effectively to others (e.g. staff, family members and community providers).

b. Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and take the initiative where appropriate.

c. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.

d. Demonstrated ability to create written documentation that is legible, clear, and concise.

e. Demonstrated ability to manage time and maintain schedule when demands are constantly changing.

f. Ability to use basic office equipment such as phone, fax, and photocopier

g. Ability to create written documentation that is legible, clear, and concise.

h. Ability to maintain positive morale and unit cohesion as evidenced by maintaining a cooperative and flexible attitude toward coworkers, showing adaptability to change, exhibiting effective communication and interpersonal skills, and taking initiative to solve problems.

i. Ability to set priorities and reacts appropriately to emergency situations.

Other:

a. Willingness to learn.

b. Clean driving record and a current CA Driver’s License or ability to obtain CA driver’s license within 10 days after hired.

Starting rate: $18.00 DOE
