Position AR Bookkeeper - 2019  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Location Medford, NY  
Salary  
Days/Hours Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm  
Description

The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper is primarily responsible for client and tenant billing and collections. This includes the sending of client rent statements, making collection phone calls, generating collection letters and working with clients and tenants to reduce their AR balances. This includes scheduling and conducting monthly or quarterly AR meetings with all program directors. Additionally this position will be responsible for posting payments to the NYC client and tenant AR accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate and distribute monthly rent statements for all agency clients.

  • Monitor AR balances for accuracy and delinquency and conduct follow up phone calls and letters for non-payment.

  • Arrange to bring in clients for meetings when accounts are not current.

  • Assist clients and case managers with detailed account histories when needed.

  • Conduct monthly or quarterly AR meetings with program directors to review client arrears. This includes preparing AR spreadsheets with balances for each meeting.

  • Prepare worksheets for eviction proceedings at the request of senior administration.

  • Maintain a client/tenant stipulation spreadsheet and alert appropriate staff when payments are missed.
  • Code and post cash receipts for NYC entities.

  • Travel to NYC locations in Brooklyn and the Bronx as needed.

 
Position Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of accounts receivable and collections experience.
