We provide support services and advocacy to 400 adults and children and their families in Harford and Cecil Counties. The Arc supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to create lives that mirror yours and mine: students attending neighborhood schools, adults going to work and living in their own homes, and individuals enjoying the social and recreational opportunities in their communities. We are a private, non-profit local chapter of The Arc of Maryland and The Arc of The United States, the largest volunteer organization in the world devoted exclusively to improving the quality of life for all adults and children with developmental disabilities.

Description

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director, Community Partners is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Community Partners Program. They will ensure that all Individuals receive Person-Centered support and a meaningful, community integrated day; always working towards Individual goals.

Position Responsibilities:

In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR Mission Statement the Supervisor, Community Partners shall do the following:

Quality Supports

  • Manages the Admissions Process representing at all Admissions Meetings; ensuring both growth of the program and quality of support is achieved
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, will be the point of contact for the program; Individuals, families, Service Coordination, other Agencies, etc.
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, will attend IP meetings when necessary and assist in effectively advocating for the Individual's interests and goals
  • Will oversee the Supervisor in the management of the Individual Plan tracking and data sheets
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, has final approval of all Individual weekly and monthly activity calendars
  • Creates and Implements all necessary Program policies and procedures that ensure proper support and service requirements
  • Attends all Community events impertinent to the promotion and advocacy of the Program and its Individuals (participating and potential)
  • Where applicable, create activities that support the Agency's Employment First philosophy
  • Will be the point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for the Program for all Waiver questions applicable to the Community Based/Day-Hab program; will ensure the Program meets all Waiver and Service Funding requirements.
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, manages all crisis situations, discussing incidents with authorized staff and individuals; approves all adjustments in supports and the environment as needed while complying with policies, procedure and the Agency's Person-Centered philosophy.

Quality Team Members

  • Provides mentoring and development of the program supervisors in all areas of leadership and service delivery
  • Ensures all employees' time/payroll is effectively tracked and approved in the Timekeeping system weekly
  • In partnership with the Sr. Director, Program Operations, establish all Program goals and performance targets
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, ensure that all Performance Evaluations are completed annually
  • In partnership with the Supervisor and Leads, ensures regular supervisions and daily huddles occur and the employees of the program receive regular feedback, general communication, and recognition
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, ensures the Program is proper staffed to meet the proper service levels; acts as the final decision maker for all new hires
  • In partnership with the Supervisor, works effectively and cooperatively with the Human Resources Department to ensure agency personnel policies and procedures are followed and takes necessary disciplinary action to ensure staff members are held accountable to those polices.

Financial Excellence

  • In partnership with the Sr. Director, Program Operations develops and manages the Program budget each year
  • Oversees the Supervisor in the review and approval of all Individual Attendance; will act as the point of contact for any audit or discrepancies
