POSITION SUMMARY:

DAWSON has an opportunity for a network systems administrator in the Washington D.C. area with implementation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be the primary network engineer and implementer for key network components support cyber security architecture
  • Experience implementing and supporting Next Generation Firewalls (preferred experience with ForcePoint and Cisco) is highly desirable. Experience with Network Data Loss Prevention solutions is also desirable.
  • Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
  • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
  • Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
  • Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
  • Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects
  • Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
  • Configure routing, switching equipment, and firewalls
  • Provide on-site support to local engineers and end users/customers during installation
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
  • Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers and foreign customers on a regular basis
  • Speak to customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.

 
Position Requirements

Preferred Qualfications:

• Strong understanding of IT security principles, technologies, best practices, and NIST guidance with experience in standards-compliance
• Proven experience working in small teams with rapid paced projects
• Experience with virtualized environments and networks
• Desired Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Wireshark Certified Network Analyst (WCNA)
• Experience with Microsoft Server and with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager software
• Experience with Active Directory.
• Helpful exposure includes the following cybersecurity analytic tools: IBM QRadar (SIEM and Resilient), VMware vCenter, Carbon Black, Microsoft Enterprise Services, Blue Coat Proxy Management Center, Blue Coat Security Analytics Management Symantec End Point protection, Nexpose Rapid7, Enterprise Gigamon/GigaVUE, Viavi, and RedSeal Security Analytics
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or other middle eastern/north African country is a plus
• Ability to live in foreign country for 4-12 months (periodic breaks may be scheduled)
• Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment with foreign engineers and partners

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required from an accredited college or university in a technical related field, preferably in cyber security, computer science, engineering or information systems or 10+ years equivalent professional job-related experience.
• 7+ years network administration and engineering experience. Includes network and security design work
• CCIE Routing and Switching Certification (400-101)
• Cisco Certified Design Expert (352-101)
• CompTIA Security +
• Experience with LANs, WANs, LANs, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Routers, and Switches.
• Experience installing rack mounted equipment. Includes basic cabling to peripheral devices and power distribution units.
• Experience with network and infrastructure monitoring to ensure efficient use of power and cooling resources.
• Overseas travel will be required to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and on global teams.
