Description

Koniag Information Security Services (KSS) is hiring professionals with passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence for a new Information Technology (IT) services contract in Natick, Massachusetts.

The Server Related functional area will monitor and configure servers to ensure peak performance. The Server Related functional is responsible for maintenance, configuration, planning and implementation of mission critical computer systems infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and configure servers to ensure peak performance including performing tape backup and other backup solutions, utilizing Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Establish, maintain, modify, and administer system and User Accounts and Group Policies in Active Directory as well as troubleshoot and correct system problems caused by group policies.
  • Research, specify, estimate, and recommend the hardware required to support the intended server use.
  • Assemble, configure and install new or replacement hardware as well as diagnose/correct hardware problems and perform upgrades.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, test and restore software backups on network servers using CommVault Enterprise Backup software.
  • Create and run scripts against the OU for the purpose of extracting data and producing reports for various tasks, projects and data calls.

  • Will exhibit the ability to work and multitask independently or in a collaborative environment, have experience with US Government proposals and acquisition processes.
  • 5 years or more of Systems Administration or related experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to train and/or mentor junior staff and other Government or contractors.
  • Possess Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-000. The expiration date on certifications must be at least 90 days out from hire date.
  • Be technically proficient with hardware such as servers, NAS, SANs, Microsoft OS’s such as Windows Server 2012R2 and later, VMware ESXi hosts, VCenter, Linux and Windows 10 and later; and Microsoft Server applications such as SQL Server, SharePoint and Commvault Configuration and Administration. Diagnose and correct OS and server application problems; build new systems by installing the Army Gold Master (AGM) approved OS, server applications, and required security patches; and identify and install required drivers.
  • Be certified in the latest Microsoft Server OS approved by the Department of the Army or DoD.
  • Be proficient with the monitoring and configuring of servers to ensure peak performance. Be proficient with tape backup and other backup solutions. Be proficient with Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Be able to establish, maintain, modify, and administer system and user accounts in Active Directory. Be able to establish, maintain, modify, and administer group policy in Active Directory. Be able to troubleshoot and correct system problems caused by group policies.
  • Be able to specify, estimate, and recommend the hardware required to support the intended server use. Be able to assemble and configure new hardware, diagnose and correct hardware problems, perform upgrades, and install new or replacement hardware.
  • Be proficient in the creation and running of scripts against the OU for the purpose of extracting data and producing reports for various tasks, projects and data calls.
  • Be proficient in the monitoring of space utilization and backup logs. Be proficient with Commvault Enterprise Backup software and/or other backup methods as may be directed by the Government such as VMware snapshots, Nutanix Acropolis replication, Veeam Backup, DELL or VMware Data Protection Solutions, etc.
  • Strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state operator's license.
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance
  • Active Secret Clearance

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
