About the Organization Faith Comes By Hearing is an Audio Bible ministry based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our vision is to get God's Word to every person, and we do this by recording Audio Bibles in every language and freely sharing them using the latest technology. We currently offer recordings in more than 1000 languages spoken by nearly 6 billion people around the world. We are looking for talented and skilled candidates to join us as we fulfill the Great Commission.

The purposes for which Faith Comes By Hearing is organized are wholly religious and include the following: To proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in all that we do. The Corporation's Statement of Faith is as follows: Trusting in Jesus Christ as our Savior, we believe in: 1. The Bible as the inspired Word of God; 2. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son; 3. The vicarious death of Jesus Christ for our sins, His bodily resurrection, and His personal return; 4. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
Position Senior Writer

The Senior Writer is responsible for managing all official proposals, reports, letters, and other correspondence to Mega Donors serviced by the Senior Vice President and to Donors serviced by Donor Engagement. This person also conducts final review of formal written correspondence to all Mega and Major donors. This position may also produce Donor pieces for broader audiences including the Executive Summary, Impact report, Church reports, direct mail appeal pieces, PowerPoint presentations, and may occasionally produce written documents for the Executive Leadership Team. This position requires the ability to persuasively communicate the ministry's vision and mission to others, and move them to continuously partner with the ministry financially.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Manages reporting schedule for Mega Donors and others connected to the Senior Vice President and for Major Donors connected to Donor Engagement.
  2. Composes special reports, cover letters, proposals for individuals and foundations, and other types of written pieces for those mentioned above. May include researching for donor funding preferences.
  3. Reviews and approves each Mega and Major Donor report for faithfulness to ministry messaging and style, visual lay-out, length, readability, and final content. Is usually responsible for final content of such pieces.
  4. Collaborates with Donor Engagement staff, Global Partnerships Area Directors, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice Presidents to determine projects to be presented to potential donors.
  5. Creates monthly list of language recordings in need of funding, AND that are good options to submit to potential donors.
  6. Oversees creation of proposals, including emphasis and tone.
  7. Collaborates with Chief Financial Officer to assure proper allocation of funds that are generated by proposals and appeals.
  8. Participates in writing donor pieces for broad audience to include, but not limited to, Executive Summary, Impact Report, Church Reports, direct mail appeal pieces, and PowerPoint presentations.
  9. Drafts and/or edits important (and sometimes confidential) internal and external documents requested by the Executive Leadership Team.
  10. Schedules and oversees official reports sent to 150-plus major donor churches.
  11. Participates in various Working Groups dealing with ministry strategy and communication.
  12. Frequently makes independent judgments regarding complex situations where donor and/or partner relationships could be jeopardized.
Position Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field
  2. 5+ years’ experience in written communications in a non-profit setting – with a strong preference for work in a Christian ministry
  3. Proven history of successfully funded proposals and grants
  4. Strong problem solving ability and creativity
  5. Exceptional ability to prioritize projects according to overall ministry objectives
  6. Superior ability to manage and execute multiple tasks simultaneously, and shift focus quickly
  7. Proven ability to work effectively with people from multiple departments, who may have differing priorities and concerns
  8. Solid understanding of principles of cross-cultural ministry and world religions
  9. Outstanding ability to sift through information and determine relevance
  10. Superior written communication skills
  11. Excellent ability to communicate with others
  12. Eagerness to learn about projects and donors
  13. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
