Job Summary:

This internship is with AMC Networks in Santa Monica, CA, but is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. Position Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

AMC / SundanceTV is responsible for original drama series including: BREAKING BAD, BETTER CALL SAUL, MAD MEN, THE WALKING DEAD, DIETLAND, and TOP OF THE LAKE. Original programming develops new series from pitch to pilot and oversees the day to day of current shows airing on our network. Interns will be potentially be responsible for creating talent grids, reading coverage, building and/or maintaining organizational systems.

  • Script and book coverage
  • Database entry and maintenance
  • Support Original Scripted Programming Department (being available and proactive for any task)
  • Specific project research
  • Desk coverage for assistants when needed (phone rolling, etc.)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest in Entertainment & Media
  • Must be well versed in the current competitive reality TV landscape
  • Should be knowledgeable on current pop culture events, celebrity gossip and trending musical artists
  • Should possess strong research skills
  • Hardworking, attention to detail, organized, proactive and passionate individual.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Eager to learn and contribute
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office

Preferred major in Television, Film Production, English, Liberal Arts, New Media & Pop Culture with an interest in storytelling
