NBCC AND AFFILIATES:
The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) is a not-for-profit, independent certification organization whose primary purposes are to establish and monitor a national certification system, and to identify those counselors who have voluntarily sought and obtained board certification. The organizational mission is to advance counseling as the premier certification body of the profession with a vision of enhancing society worldwide through quality counseling. NBCC and Affiliates is comprised of three organizational affiliates: the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) and the NBCC Foundation (NBCC-F).
NBCC and Affiliates has operations and partnerships in 40 countries providing certification, training programs and public mental health services through institutes and residencies. Over 66,000 Board Certified Counselors serve the public and advance mental health efforts across the globe. With a portfolio of nine credentials related to professional counseling, mental health, addictions, human services and career development, NBCC and Affiliates seeks to expand the professional capacity of counselors and human service professionals. NBCC is focused specifically on credentialing, certification and quality assurance, while CCE focuses on providing education and training opportunities and leveraging credentials to best serve communities. Additionally, CCE provides organizational management services for associations, boards and other management clients. The NBCC Foundation engages in capacity building, seeking to expand access to mental health services in underserved and never-served communities and increase the accessibility of high quality professional development resources for counselors.
FINANCIAL SERVICES AND ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
The Financial Services and Accounting Department performs essential functions around budgeting, forecasting and monitoring daily financial operations. As a core operational department, this department manages, monitors and evaluates daily financial activities of the company including payroll, accounts receivable/payable, invoicing and other financial transactions. Within this department, bookkeeping and data entry is managed for all of the affiliates and reports for the Boards of Directors and Trustees are developed by the Director and the Financial Services Team. This department prepares reports for the leadership team on company's financial health, direction and strategic fiscal planning. The Financial Services team works to create and monitor the organization's budget and provides guidance and support to division and department heads as they monitor and manage division and department operational budgets. The department articulates and facilitates processes for reviewing and approving/disapproving spending requests. In short the Director of this department and his or her team serves as the administrative authority on all financial matters and must strive to remain up-to-date on contemporary trends and professional education in financial operations.
The Director of the Financial Services and Accounting Department provides leadership for and evaluation of all employees within this department. The department staff currently includes a payroll specialist, financial analyst, grants financial analyst, director of accounting, two accounts payable clerks, two accounting clerks, an accounting database specialist and a cash receipts analyst. The Director of Financial Services and Accounting is responsible designing and managing the processes and operational tasks of the department and will serve as the financial authority for the Affiliate group.
