About STR: Systems & Technology Research (STR) is a small and growing company focused on providing innovative, technology-based solutions to defense, intelligence and national security problems. STR is seeking a Security Representative with a current Secret (or above) clearance.


Responsibilities:

The Security Intern will work under the guidance and direction of the STR Facility Security Officer (FSO). The assignments of the Security Intern are focused on assisting in administering a robust security program. You would assist the FSO and Contractor Program Security Officers (CPSO) as well as the Information Security Managers (ISM) with implementing all requisite national security directives provided by STR security management. You are expected to exhibit professionalism while working and make decisions with minimal supervision. You should work as a team player, exhibit flexibility, set priorities, communicate clearly (both written and verbally) and manage customer expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will interact with internal and external customers and/or Government security officials in performance of security duties and assisting in managing the front desk.

Additional assignments and areas for professional growth and development include: physical security, information security, security education and awareness, document & media control, personnel security, data transfers, visitor control, maintain security files, handle & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned by the Facility Security Management. Participate in self-inspections as well as Department of Defense and Cognizant Security Agency reviews and investigate security incidents. Support other security related tasks as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance or above
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, and time management skills
  • Willingness to be submitted for higher level clearances
  • Able to learn/engage in training for company and government security policies and apply them to operations
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Commitment to security – innovating solutions to challenges and creating a unique approach to STR craftsmanship
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, collaboratively and customer service oriented

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Industrial Security
  • Knowledge of Access Control, Intrusion Detection Systems and Closed Area construction
  • Ability to utilize and learn multiple databases used for accountability with clearances and material

Minimum Education:
Graduated from or Attending a four-year higher learning institution
