Technology Support Specialist 

About the Organization Celebrating 70 years of business, Swanson Rink specializes in mechanical and electrical engineering for mission critical data centers, airports and corporate clients. Provides network technical support, customer service, user support; maintains software and hardware, maintains up-to-date documentation; troubleshoots network, telephone system, and other portable communication devices.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Installs and configures hardware and software in accordance with standard procedures
  2. End User Desktop Support
  3. Manages network, servers, and applications
  4. Sets up and maintains workstations
  5. Monitors performance and maintains systems according to requirements
  6. Troubleshoots issues and outages
  7. Follows industry standards for security protocols for access controls, backups and firewalls
  8. Performs phone system maintenance and administration
  9. Supports Hyper-V virtual environment
  10. Assists with updating and maintaining Window servers with established best practices
  11. Assists with updating and maintaining domain services including Active Directory, Group Policy DNS, DHCP and Certificate Services
  12. Performs daily system monitoring
  13. Performs daily backup operations
  14. Applies OS patches and upgrades
  15. Builds and configures virtual and physical servers in a physical environment
  16. Builds an internal library of documentation and IT policies
Position Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent certification and experience
  • Familiarity with various operation systems and platforms
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Must be able to work overtime or be in an on-call rotation as needed
  • Demonstrated track-record of successfully troubleshooting and resolving problems with computer software, network, telephone system and other equipment, including mobile devices
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Experience with databases, networks, and patch management a plus
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT and other Autodesk products a plus
  • A+, Network+, MCP or other Microsoft Certifications a plus
