Title: Research Assistant
Status: Temporary Full-Time (1 year)
We are looking for a Research Assistant to help with the execution of a study in which we will implement a cloud-connected universal interface in a pediatric healthcare setting and determine the conditions necessary for successful implementation. The Research Assistant will be part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and engineers.
Off-site travel is required. Applicants must have a driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Key responsibilities:
- Recruit participants over the phone
- Conduct data collection sessions with participants following established research protocol
- Manage data following established research protocol
- Organize materials to facilitate protocol adherence
- Support logistics for data collection sessions and focus groups
- Assist research team in providing training to participants and their families
- Assist research team with administrative tasks, REB submissions, and reports
- Lead focus groups (if appropriate experience)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) in a health-related field preferred
- Driver's license and access to a vehicle required
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and management
- Technology proficiency required
- Knowledge of access technologies preferred
- Experience with children and/or non-verbal individuals with disabilities preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organization, time management, and priority setting skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving skills with a desire to learn
- Demonstrated understanding of a Family-Centered Care service delivery model
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience leading focus groups would be an asset
- Experience administering the MEQAS (Measure of Environmental Qualities of Activity Settings) would be an asset
