ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs functions associated with manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes. Work with engineers in developing methods of manufacturing, error-proofing processes, etc. Specific responsibilities include trial runs of products and process applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. Also, correct/update processes and systems by making appropriate changes and validating improvements to ensure that the desired results are produced. Read and understand customer documentation to determine which materials are needed and the most efficient assembly sequence. Work collaboratively with Design, Components and Manufacturing Engineering, to assist Configuration Management and technical writers with development and review of technical work instructions. Responsible for ownership of Product Transition Center (PTC) processes and establishing standards as well as training others within the PTC or within manufacturing. Has ownership and responsibility to assist in making the PTC a hallmark and market differentiator for Extant. Must collaborate with other functional areas and meet or exceed business objectives. Ensure that all assigned work areas in the PTC are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times. Apply the 6S principle and best practices in continuous process improvement. Wear proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions, and may be required to establish PPE expectations for manufacturing processes. Comply with all paperwork, such as work instructions that govern job duties. May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require, and will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED Equivalency plus a minimum of 4 years direct industry experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred candidates will have a two year degree. Must have a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing methodologies that support sound business results. Solid computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Other: Business travel required for this position ~ 10% however; the rate will vary depending on customer requirements. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. as this position will be a vital part of new equipment set-up and installation. |
