About STR: Systems & Technology Research (STR) is a small and growing company focused on providing innovative, technology-based solutions to defense, intelligence and national security problems. STR is seeking a Security Representative with a current Secret (or above) clearance.
The Security Representative will work under the guidance and direction of the STR Facility Security Officer (FSO). The assignments of the Security Representative are focused on administering a robust security program and managing the main lobby security reception desk. They assist the FSO and Contractor Program Security Officers (CPSO) with implementing all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on NISPOM and DoD 5205. 07 SAP Manual, Volumes 1-4. You are expected to exhibit the dedication of a security professional while working and making decisions independently without direct supervision. You should work as a team player, exhibit flexibility, set priorities, communicate clearly (both written and verbally) and manage customer expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will interact with internal and external customers and/or Government security officials in performance of security duties and managing the front desk.
Additional assignments and areas for professional growth and development include: physical security, information security, security education and awareness, document & media control, personnel security, data transfers, visitor control, maintain security files, handle & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned by the FSO. Prepare and conduct Program Security Awareness Briefings, develop security plans, goals, and objectives to comply with existing directives and future requirements. Interpret and provide classification guidance to employees, participate in self-inspections as well as DSS and CSA reviews, and investigate security incidents. Support other security related tasks as assigned. You will work in a secured environment and may work extended hours and weekends as needed. Local travel, throughout the local area, as well as travel to Arlington or Dayton may be routinely required. Other travel may be required on a limited basis.
Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent work experience
