We are seeking a DYNAMIC, HANDS-ON, ORGANIZED, PEOPLE PERSON to coordinate our amazing team of Medical Assistants and support clinic operations. You'll use your experience and skill in medical assistance, your thirst for continuous learning, to train and develop your staff. You'll model a strong patient-focus and excellent communication to set the standard for your employees. A big part of your work will be coaching, training and developing the Mas while keeping an eye to efficiencies in the clinic. It's a busy job that offers a great deal of variety.

Northern Nevada HOPES is a community health and wellness center serving the Northern Nevada area.   • We are a National Health Service Corp site, and our providers are eligible to apply toward a federal loan forgiveness program

Our Medical Assistant Coordinator is a crucial member of the clinical team and is responsible for the direct management of the daily workload of the Medical Assistants (MA). The coordinator functions as a vital liaison to link the sharing of information between management and providers within the clinic environment and integrating the practices of the front and back office staff. HOPES has a progressive and integrated team model approach to patient care and this role actively participates in organizational wide Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) activities. This includes a commitment to enhance and advocate that our patient care experience is centered in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring staff are acquainted with these processes in their delivery of patient care.

Position Requirements

We're looking for:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistance educational program by an accredited program.
  • RMA/CMA/CMAS strongly preferred.
  • 4 or more years of progressively responsible experience
  • 2 years experience demonstrating leadership and proficiency in the daily MA workload
  • Bilingual
  • Proficient in Medical Terminology (Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Prior supervision preferred
  • Specialized training as a Laboratory Assistant, BLS, CPR, EKG operations preferred
