Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Assistant will assist Technical Operations organization priorities by supporting Flight Data Analysis (FDA) and the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program as well as executing tasks related to Operations Engineering. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring successful collection and flow of FDA data, maintaining confidentiality as well as ensuring accuracy and integrity of the data
  • Determine adverse events or trends based on risk level and performing root cause analysis in response to adverse events or trends
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and statistical data for senior management review and action, to include recommendations and/or action plans
  • Track findings and corrective action to ensure follow-up and completion
  • Coordinate the development, verification, and validation of aircraft specific event definitions
  • Maintain the FDA database, event definitions, documentation supporting these functions
  • Prepare the publication of FDA reports for FDA stakeholders * Serving as the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program Assistant:
  • Assist in programing and test EFBs to ensure proper functioning prior to deployment and supporting exiting EFBs in coordination with Information Services, Operations Engineering, and Maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations to maintain approval * Serving as the Operations Engineering Technical Assistant:
  • Distribute and test updates to weight and balance, performance, and airport database program
  • Support weight and balance, performance, and airport database program * Complete any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Represent Omni Air International at appropriate industry forums
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have general understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Must have a general understanding of safety analysis, trending and risk assessment, including the ability to analyze, trend and interpret complex flight data;
  • Must be able to perform statistical analysis and audits
  • Must possess strong technical reading and writing skills
  • Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Basic computer programming and statistical methods experience preferred
  • Must possess strong analytical skills with investigative and problem solving abilities
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Window, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management or Aviation Safety or 3+ years previous experience in field, preferred.
  • Private pilot license or greater, preferred
  • Experience with voluntary aviation safety programs, preferred

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
