Description

SUMMARY:

The primary function of this position is to perform product acceptance testing and run operational tests on various types of equipment using test procedures, and written and verbal instructions. Acceptance testing includes controls, performance and safety checks. Testing is performed on environmental control units, generators, refrigeration units and air compressors. Various types of test equipment, including electrical meters, refrigeration gauges, and flow meters, are used to perform tests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs operational run testing and troubleshooting of HVAC and Generator power equipment
  • Able to use electronic test equipment and refrigeration charge equipment
  • Able to read electrical schematics, engineering drawings and wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical and HVAC problems, without supervision
  • Refrigeration knowledge, including use of refrigeration tools
  • Able to record test result data both electronically and in written format
  • Able to obtain EPA universal certification if required
  • Accurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reporting
  • Follows both visual and written work instructions in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary, including weekends
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred plus completion of technical training in HVAC and Electrical. EPA Universal License (Core Type 1 and Type 2) preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years of industry releated experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
  • Frequent lifting and pushing of up to 50 lbs., repetitive motion, occasional lifting and pushing up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
  • Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules
