Operations Program Manager 

Description

Position Summary

This newly created role will report directly to the VP of Operations and will be an individual contributor.

Responsible for the operational execution (Quality, Schedule, & Cost) and achieving revenue targets for a suite of product lines. Will interact closely with Operation's leadership in the scheduling and allocation of resources. Will interact closely with program managers to set and manage/forecast revenue targets and attain desired margins.

Position Duties

  • Will act as the 'bridge' between Operations and Program Management to communicate execution performance.
  • Responsible for achieving revenue targets for a defined set of product lines. Coordinates with program managers to accelerate or push-out orders as required.
  • Accountable and provides focus to the production team to execute to quality, schedule and cost expectations - coordinates intimately with master scheduler, production control and operation's leadership.
  • Provides forward looking capacity planning and sustainment management by understanding current backlog demands coupled with future orders.
  • Implements and executes specific components of quality improvement, Lean and Six Sigma programs. Accountable for reduction of cost and waste within production. Improves productivity by implementing best practices.
  • Implements activities in production area to ensure timely, high quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements
  • Implements production plans and provides feedback around product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, and schedules to meet given objectives.
  • Executes given priorities to ensure the most efficient and effective production schedule and staffing plan. Executes to the given budget targets.
  • Interacts as needed with other support functions - Finance, customer support, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree plus a minimum of 6 years of direct industry experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer advanced degree.
  • Experience working within a Manufacturing environment required
    • Prefer avionics electronics
    • Prefer experience in a CFR 14 Part 21 environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to thoroughly understand a business's strategy and determine linkages to cost, quality and schedule.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and influence processes across multiple functions and stakeholders.
  • Highly computer proficient, including advanced capabilities with Excel, ERP systems experience is preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with little to no supervision
  • Enjoys working with teams to achieve common objectives
  • Cognizance of product life cycle management
