Credentialed Work Incentive Practitioner

Position Summary:

The Credentialed Work Incentive Practitioner (CWIP) performs as an integral part of the IPS and Employment Services programs working with adults receiving IPS/Supported Employment services. The purpose of this position is to provide counseling and assistance to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability beneficiaries who are working with the IPS and Supported Employment teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides guidance on benefits, work incentives, and employment services available to individuals.
  • Coordinates communication between the IPS/SE team and individuals as needed.
  • Provides planning and assistance to individuals with disabilities, and their families, who are potentially eligible to participate in Federal and State work incentive programs.
  • Provides information to individuals on health benefits coverage options that may be available.
  • Provides presentations and trainings to teams regarding basic SSI/SSDI benefits.
  • Promotes employment and self-sufficiency through the use of work incentives.
  • Completes documentation regarding service delivery in the required database within 24 hours of service delivery.
  • Participates in Fidelity Review interview process for each IPS team
  • Maintains good work habits regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance and effective working relationships with co-workers and individuals being supported.
  • Prepares and submits documentation accurately and within prescribed time frames.
  • Utilizes NCTRACKS to complete Medicaid/Medicare checks, if needed.
  • Attends weekly team meetings when necessary.
  • Assists in training new employees.
  • Travels to meet individuals and team members in other geographic areas as needed.
  • Completes continuing education and training necessary to maintain certification
  • Accepts other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Attends appropriate work related workshops, in-service trainings, and conferences.
  • Follows all ESUCP Policies and Procedures.
  • Must demonstrate Easter Seals valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment and Caring as appropriate to position.
  • Completes required training within prescribed timeframes.
  • Performs related duties as requested
Position Requirements
  • A High School diploma/GED equivalent from a USDOE or CHEA accredited institution.
  • Benefit Counseling certification from State of North Carolina or national accreditation.
  • A minimum of two years of documented fulltime experience working with individuals with the population served.
  • Knowledge of the service system, benefits, entitlements and supports utilized by people with disabilities.
  • Possesses a valid, unrestricted, state appropriate driver’s license, has a good driving record and carries current, unrestricted vehicle insurance is required.
  • Has reliable transportation to work in various places around the community with current, valid inspection sticker and registration and valid tags.
