Subject Matter Expert 

Description

Understand and discuss simulation requirements with the customers. Document and track these requirements and provide technical input to modelers with regards to fidelity, accuracy, and intended use as well as to act as liaison with aircrew. Conduct specific technical duties on Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), specifically working with F-35 sensor, radar, Electronic Warfare systems, threat system analysis, countermeasures, EO/IR, air-to-air weapons, or air-to-ground weapons models. Provide use cases for engineers, analyze the data from classified and unclassified resources, perform operational testing of the models, and attend technical and programmatic meetings in support of the customer. Work in a team, actively participate in teleconferences, and work independently under the direction of an engineering lead. Participate in formal and informal test activities, utilizing the available labs and simulators to provide early feedback to engineers to reduce the risk of rework later in the schedule. Give formal presentations and demonstrations to customers and stakeholders and potentially to industry at trade events.

 
Position Requirements

Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Math, or Science preferred with a minimum of eight years of experience working with at least one of the above listed aircraft systems. Must have prior experience and be considered a SME, with at least one of the aircraft or weapon systems listed above, from either an aircrew, simulation, or flight test environment. Must have significant tactical military aviation experience in Fighter, Attack, or Support aircraft. Recent and relevant knowledge of tactics, training and procedures for deployment of those aircraft in a current combat environment is a must. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
