IT Intern 

About the Organization Celebrating 70 years of business, Swanson Rink specializes in mechanical and electrical engineering for mission critical data centers, airports and corporate clients. Primary Responsibilities

IT Intern needed to assist in the deployment of a new software platform. This may include configuration of the software, documentation of the implementation, and development of processes for both IT operations and end-users. The Intern may be tasked with helping to onboard users to the new software platform. Strong documentation skills are required.

Additional Responsibilities

IT Intern will support the IT team in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems. They will troubleshoot issues with equipment such as printers, computers and servers, and will run software updates and backups when requested. The Intern may participate in the set-up of new desktops, servers or applications. This role may include researching possible solutions to unique technical issues encountered.

Position Requirements


IT Intern must be in pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering. Some training or experience with programming, database management and technologies like MS SQL, virtualization, and networking is preferred.

Intern must be available to work work 10-15 hours per week during standard business hours.


IT Intern must demonstrate the ability to understand and follow directions and must be a motivated self-starter and open and excited to learn new technologies. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and basic project management skills are required. This position requires a customer service-oriented perspective and requires the ability to learn and employ techniques to best serve internal stakeholders.
