Requires a strong engineering background relative to new and prototype Navy systems and equipment. This position is part time with varying hours per week depending on need.
Specific requirements include:
1. Coordinate Communication Test Set (CTS) production. Assess material inventory to identify shortages and initiate corrective actions. Research and conduct engineering analysis to resolve material obsolesce. Conduct Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transactions necessary for material movement, identifying stock, researching material sources, and advanced cataloging information. Utilize Procurement Action Tool (PAT) to initiate acquisition of materials and services to support CTS production. Identify and report issues with PAT in order for their resolution.
2. Provide engineering support for CTS production. Conduct engineering analysis and provide technical input for development of CTS production documents. Assemble, prepare and review documentation to enable CTS production. Analyze and resolve technical issues that arise during production.
3. Provide senior engineering oversight for developing junior engineers within the project. Review output from junior engineers and provide feedback and improvement recommendations. Oversee junior engineer efforts to help ensure on-time and quality deliverables.
4. Provide engineering support for maintenance of Guided Missile Simulators (GMSs). Assess configuration of GMS Test Console to identify improvements in terms of cost and schedule. Review and provide updates to GMS test procedures. Assist and oversee conduct of GMS testing. Received training and have experience in surface mount assembly techniques on printed wiring assemblies.
