*This is a Part-time Position* Requires a strong background in electronics design, circuit design, assembly and repair of printed wiring assemblies., repair of single, double and multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs), soldering expertise, electronics packaging and heat management, as well as mechanical fabrication including machine shop certification to operate metal fabrication machines and hand tools used for prototyping electronics equipment. This position is part time with varying hours per week depending on need. Specific requirements include: Specialized knowledge of the electrical interface between complex weapons systems and the weapons they launch in at least three of these programs: VLS, TOMAHAWK, MARS, VOTS, HARPOON, MINI-FLAIL, STANDARD MISSILE, AFS. Experience in design and fabrication of complex electronic equipment involving multiple engineering disciplines (electronics/mechanical). Knowledge needed to complete development from rudimentary designs and transition the products to production. Requires approx. Strong background in linear and digital design applications i.e.: micro-computers, computer integrated manufacturing technology, fiber optic technology, robotics, surface mount technology, multi-layer PWB/PWA technology. Firm knowledge of design methods, production techniques, and interfacing techniques of advanced complex missile/fire control simulation systems. Extensive experience in packaging of electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for weapon simulators. Support equipment. Test and certification equipment. Underwater mine neutralization systems. Experience in operation of wave soldering and hot air convection oven in the assembly of electronic printed wiring boards. . Certified operator with extensive experience using metal fabricating machines and hand tools that are used in the prototyping electronics equipment. Single, double and multilayer repair of printed circuit boards. Assembly and repair of printed wiring assemblies. Special Process Certification in MIL-STD-2000 High Reliability Soldering (operator/inspector). Extensive experience using computer aided tools to edit digital. Manufacturing files that are used to manufacture printed wiring boards. Experience in the design of heat management plates that provide cooling of components on printed wiring assemblies. Experience in the printed circuit manufacturing techniques using computer aided manufacturing tools. Received training and have experience in surface mount assembly techniques on printed wiring assemblies.
