Share Email Opening Title Events Production Intern, Academy Museum - Summer 2019 (Academy Gold)  Description Job Summary: The Events Production Intern will provide support to the Events Production Manager and Sales/Events Department related to operational logistics, preferred vendor procurement and event space preparation pre-opening. The Intern will assist with operations department needs pertaining to the event spaces at the museum. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task on a variety of projects simultaneously, ability to accurately distribute pertinent information both internally (to necessary departments) as well as to clients and vendors. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate site inspections for Events Team. Help with developing and updating preferred vendor list; recommending new vendors for consideration. Assist the Events Production Manager with the development of events policies and procedures for the museum. Assist with the planning of the Museum Opening Gala, parties and community events. Assist with AV and technical planning for event spaces. Answer phone calls and email inquiries for events team. Assist in scheduling meetings and appointments. Work on research projects pertaining to software needs for events department. Attend weekly operations/production meetings. Other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements Strong interest in working in events, hospitality or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Detail-oriented with strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines. Ability to work independently and to be resourceful and solutions-oriented. Ability to roll up sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done. Ability to actively support a positive environment of teamwork, cooperation, and excellent service. This internship is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week summer internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
