Share Email Opening Title Reference and Public Services Intern, Margaret Herrick Library - Summer 2019 (Academy Gold)  Description Job Summary: The Reference and Public Services Intern will be responsible for adding both information and images to existing internal Academy related databases, finding gaps in existing records and clean-up. The Intern will also receive reference training and will work with patrons in-person at the Margaret Herrick Library's reference desk and orientation, as well as provide telephone reference assistance. Duties and Responsibilities: Search library holdings, as well as external sources to add additional or missing information to our library databases. Search photographs to select appropriate images to digitize and add to the Acceptance Speech and RCF database. Create original catalog records in the Academy's data management system, AdLib. Staff the library's reference and orientation desks as well as providing telephone reference. Other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements Currently enrolled in a MLIS program. Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies, Art, or an allied field with an interest in film culture. Strong computer skills with database experience and basic cataloging knowledge. Strong written and oral communication skills with customer service experience. Ability to lift/move moderately heavy materials (20 lbs.) and other objects to and from high and low shelves and drawers. This internship is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week summer internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
