Therapist or Therapist Trainee - MST/FIT 


What are we looking for in a Therapist?

Therapists at Comprehensive implement evidenced-based practices to provide support to clients and families in learning new skills. They also help clients connect with appropriate natural and community resources. Using excellent teamwork and communication, Therapists provide counseling and skill development through individual or groups sessions to assist clients with reaching their treatment and recovery goals. Training and clinical supervision in the provision of evidenced-based practices is provided as part of this position.

Following the MST/FIT model, MST Therapists provide family intervention treatment to youth who have been involved in the juvenile justice system. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday with some evening work, as well as participation in 24-hour on-call coverage.

Therapist duties may include:

  • providing individual and family therapy
  • leading behavioral health groups
  • providing mental health intake and assessments
  • crisis evaluation and intervention services
  • treatment planning with clients and natural support (if available)
  • thorough and timely completion of required clinical documentation
  • collaboration with family members, natural, and formal supports
  • assisting with case management needs as needed
  • providing evaluations, recommendations, and/or testimony to courts, DSHS, etc., if qualified
  • providing community consultations, education, and evaluations as requested
Position Requirements

Education/Experience: Master's degree in social services or related field or bachelor’s degree in social services or related field. If bachelor’s degree, completion of at least one full year of master’s degree program required and master’s degree must be obtained within 12 months from date of hire.

Professional Credentials: Eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration

Other Credentials Required: Driver's License, Vehicle Liability Insurance
