Share Email Opening Title Cultural Equity and Inclusion Project Intern, Film Archive - Summer 2019 (Academy Gold)  Description Summary: The Academy Film Archive is looking for an Intern to assist within the Cataloging and Public Access departments on the Cultural Equity and Inclusion Project. The Intern’s role within the Cultural Equity and Inclusion Project would include identifying relevant filmmakers and content within specific underrepresented communities and compiling their findings within the Archive's database. Responsibilities: This internship will consist primarily of independent research conducted within secondary sources, including but not limited to books, articles, and internet resources. Additionally, the Intern would produce two short compositions, first a brief written analysis of their findings for use by Archive staff, and second an exploratory piece using their findings as inspiration to discuss an era/motif/style/trend relevant to one or more of the underrepresented communities.   Position Requirements Pursuing a Masters or Doctorate degree in Library Information Science, Museum Studies, Cinema and Media Studies, or related discipline preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of an underrepresented community's role in the history of film production and content preferred. Must have excellent research and writing skills. Must have competency working in Excel and relational databases. This internship is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week summer internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
