The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) is a not-for-profit, independent certification organization whose primary purposes are to establish and monitor a national certification system, and to identify those counselors who have voluntarily sought and obtained board certification. NBCC and Affiliates is comprised of three organizational affiliates: the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) and the NBCC Foundation (NBCC-F).

NBCC and Affiliates has operations and partnerships in 40 countries providing certification, training programs and public mental health services through institutes and residencies. Over 66,000 Board Certified Counselors serve the public and advance mental health efforts across the globe. With a portfolio of nine credentials related to professional counseling, mental health, addictions, human services and career development, NBCC and Affiliates seeks to expand the professional capacity of counselors and human service professionals. NBCC is focused specifically on credentialing, certification and quality assurance, while CCE focuses on providing education and training opportunities and leveraging credentials to best serve communities. Additionally, CCE provides organizational management services for associations, boards and other management clients. The NBCC Foundation engages in capacity building, seeking to expand access to mental health services in underserved and never-served communities and increase the accessibility of high quality professional development resources for counselors.

Summary

Implements and maintains donor/volunteer management system, supports Communications Manager in fundraising and communications efforts, and assists Executive Director in increasing donations and grant acquisition.

Essential Duties

The following duties and responsibilities are a summary of the essential functions of the job. Other duties might be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities could change periodically.

  • Ensures accurate data collection and data integrity through regular data entry, checks, and reviews of donor records and fields.
  • Works directly with the Executive Director and Communications Manager to capture, maintain, and extract detailed reports and data in a timely manner regarding donors, volunteers, and other constituents within Exceed.
  • Serves as a primary member of the Foundation development team.
  • Works directly with the Communications Manager to plan and implement fundraising campaigns, including direct communication with donors, volunteers, and other constituents as needed.
  • Assists Communications Manager with research, data collection, and other tasks as needed to support communication and development projects.
  • Coordinates gift entry paperwork.
  • Coordinates the gift acknowledgement process on a timely basis with the highest level of accuracy.
  • Identifies, removes, resolves, and integrates conflicting or duplicate records within Exceed and between Exceed and NetForum.
  • Maintains and corrects all demographic and personal data.
  • Maintains procedure manual.
  • Works directly with the Executive Director to develop and implement donor moves management and recruitment efforts.
  • Coordinates month-end reconciliation with the Accounting Department.
  • Assists Executive Director with the research and development of grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
