Position Summary:

The Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing adult supports in a residential apartment program. This position is responsible for ensuring best practices, compliance with all state, federal, and agency standards as required for assigned services. The Residential Supervisor for Apartments supervises the Site Apartment Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Individual/Family Related

  1. Links and coordinates the individuals to resources in the community to help them become successful and become more independent.
  2. Maintains confidential records on all individuals, which include individual goal planning, progress toward goals, medical information, and assessments of resident adjustment.
  3. Assists individuals with handling money, making and keeping appointments (doctor, dentist, etc.) as needed.
  4. Helps to provide opportunities for individuals to and from places of employments, personal appointments, and for recreational and other events.
  5. Encourages residents to do things independently, make their own decisions, interact with others, and participate in community activities.
  6. Encourages appropriate family involvement.
  7. Maintains awareness of successes, problems, and general attitudes of the individuals, their employers, and the community.


  1. Interviews, hires and supervises all apartment site manager positions in collaboration with HR and Program Manager.
  2. Ensures all training is provided and coordinates training opportunities with HR and Program Manager.
  3. Submits overtime requests to Program Manager and resolves scheduling problems while staying within budgetary parameters.
  4. Completes staff performance reviews in a timely fashion.
  5. Operates program within approved budget.
  6. Participates in budget development for cost centers in collaboration with Program Manager.
  7. Maintains an up-to-date inventory of house supplies and materials.
  8. Completes HUD admission and discharge paperwork, authorization requests and other activities related to ongoing access to services for residents in collaboration with Apartment Site Manager.
  9. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality, manages use of PTO time, and follows all policies and procedures regarding time off.
  10. Complete appropriate duties when filling in for Site Apartment Manager.
  11. Attends required in services and meetings as needed.
  12. Demonstrates the traits of a team player with a positive attitude and respect towards others.
  13. Follows all ESUCP Policies and Procedures.
  14. Demonstrates Easter Seals valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment and Caring as appropriate to position.
  15. Completes required training within prescribed timeframes.
  16. All other duties as required by supervisor to meet the needs of the residents and the program.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A degree from an USDOE or CHEA accredited, four-year college or university in the human services field with qualifications to be credentialed as a QP in I/DD
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
  • Two (2) years’ administrative/supervisory experience, preferably in a residential setting.
  • A valid, state appropriate driver’s license and ability to be insured by Easter Seals UCP’s insurance carrier is required.

    *Current ESUCP residential leaders with 20+ years’ experience in residential settings will be grandfathered as Group Home Managers.
